Mt. Balagbag | Buddy Climb for a Cause

“We should give as we would receive, cheerfully, quickly, and without hesitation;  for there is no grace in a benefit that sticks to the fingers."  -Seneca-

Frustration for Mt.Pulag climb led us to do something worthwhile; dangerous it may seem but more thrilling and exciting! We’ve been responsible for our every step; assess first our capacity for every trail asking each other where to go and how we will do it. Truly, two heads are better than one and four feet are better than two. We conquered our fears, surpassed the most difficult trail and reached the summit, safe and sound.

Indeed, it was a day hike for a cause! More different from our previous adventures, we aimed to share what we have and what we can to the locals of Mt.Balagbag. Spent a little time and gave little sweeties for the kids we have met along the way. Their smiles really softened our hearts. We got inspiring stories from the young “mag-uuling” boys who walked through the mountains to the other community to sell ‘uling’ to support their family. So heartwarming! And what my mind is saying today, there’s a purpose why God allowed us to meet them and it inspired us to continue what we have started.

Here's our story..

From EDSA - Cubao, we rode a bus going to Jolibee Tungko. Licao - Licao terminal is 3-minute walk from the main road .

The first mini - Falls

Here's the Kaytitinga Falls

We can't see any trail as we looked around so we decided to have this risky undertaking. I felt nervous at first but when started climbing the rock excitement filled me up!. New experience, new sort of adventure!

We thanked the two locals we met along the way who helped us reached the main road.

The road  was bumpy and rough. Only few motorcycles and off road vehicles can pass through so  just walk enjoyably.

The sun was on its mightiest while we were walking through the rough road. The sun may seems scorching but behold! Look around and you will be fascinated by the view of Sierra Madre Range – known to be the longest mountain range in the Philippines.

The oceans cry out to You
The mountains they bow down before You
So I'll join with the earth
And I'll give my praise to You! ***

Done with our first buddy climb! Two people, who are passionate about making a difference, thrill seekers and risk takers.
