"It is only by thinking about great and good things that we come to love them,
and it is only by loving them that we come to long for them,
and it is only by longing for them that we are impelled to seek after them;
and it is only by seeking after them that they become ours."
--Henry Van Dyke--
I dare to try out new things, pursue opportunities and explore new avenues. It's been years that every bit of a dream was just stored in my mind, believing that in a proper time it will happen. Step by step, dream after dream, I could have it. As what the popular line says: "..a journey for a thousand miles, start with a single step." It starts with the desire to go for something we want, decide to reach them and just doing it.
Desire. Decide. Do it.
Making dreams into a reality!
It was one of the busy days in October when Kuya Dan invited me for a hike. I'd immediately said YES since mountain climbing is one of the outdoor activities I've been dreaming to experience. Without any physical preparation and no outdoor gear (backpack or trek shoes), I'd go for it! The most important thing I have was the desire to climb mountains and a heart that loves nature and adventure!
While trekking, I keep on telling myself: "This is really is it! Enjoy every moment. Just go with the winds anywhere it can take you. New experience, new people, new friends and new learnings.!" My heart is overflowing with joy as of this writing. Truly, "a picture is worth a thousand words." And since this is my very first entry, all I can share to you are these photos:
DAY 1 : This is the moment.. feel it!
"I see my path, but I don't know where it leads. Not knowing where I'm going is what inspires me to travel it.”

DAY 2: You Take my breath Away
We were blessed with a pleasant weather. To experience this cold and foggy morning is perfectly revitalizing. Waking up in this kind of atmosphere stimulates
my adventurous heart. I told myself that I’ll gonna do it again..and again.

"I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we only tune in."

I paused for a while to thank and praise God as I gaze on
the astonishing sceneries. How wonderful our God really is. As I breathe the
fresh air and feel the cool breeze, there’s an immeasurable joy that filled my
heart. For having the opportunity of being on the top with the people who
shared with you the same interests and the feeling of satisfaction that you
have already made the first step, are truly huge blessings! It was so
heartwarming to realize that everything was aligned for having my dreams come
into pass. I awe it all to God for the new experience as a doorway for another adventure
to pursue.

Having that unquenchable thirst for new experiences and to take a break from the monotony on the chaos of the city where I am living, climbing Mt. Batulao was really a great weekend getaway.
Thank you very much Filipino Recreational Outdoor Group!
