"Our human compassion binds us the one to the other - not in pity or patronizingly, but as human beings who have learned how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future.“
- Nelson Mandela -

Being part of this outreach activity helped me realize more of God-given gifts. We are all here for a purpose. Seeing those smiles on the faces of every child despite their difficult situation inspired me to give more of what I can. We may not have enough material things to share but that simple touch on their shoulders, sweetest smile offered and words of encouragement can make a difference. Letting them see and feel that life is indeed a wonderful thing to be thankful for. I believe that inside each and every one of us, big or small; have the capability to be a blessing to others.  I learned that those little gestures are worth more than tangible things. It may be forgotten when they’re gone but how you touched their lives will leave marks in their hearts.

An immeasurable joy inside of me, that feeling of happiness after the little time spent with these people gave me that desire to be more passionate in helping others. Be more responsible and just set aside personal longings by focusing on what to do in lifting others up. I have learned that being human, you must have that spirit of volunteerism, thinking others more than yourself. It is not about the quantity but the love and passion you put in it.

As long as we are here, so long that there is breath on this land, we all have that opportunity to help others. Let that passion in our hearts grow, reaching out the less fortunate, and fighting for that dream in making this world a better place.

Going hand-in-hand, we can make it!

"Learn life lessons from your climbs.  Learn from the people you climb with.
Learn about courage and perseverance;  teamwork and camaraderie; faith and hope.
And never forget these lessons, for they are trail signs
that will take you to the summits of your life."
